The Truth About Killing Bacteria and Viruses
BioSafe Distributors products have passed the rigors of laboratory testing to inactivate a wide variety of bacteria, viruses, molds, spores, and fungi. This testing has been completed by independent laboratories, academic testing sites, and industry-specific testing facilities. The two primary products included in the tests are Biological Fogging Solutions and Aqueous Ozone Water technology.
WHAT IS BIOSAFE’S BIOLOGICAL FOGGING SOLUTION?
BioSafe’s Biological Fogging utilizes NEW biocidal technology by neutralizing over 300 Viruses, Bacteria, Allergens, Mold, Spores, and Fungi. The cold fogging process produces a fine mist of tiny micron particles that remain in the air long enough to kill any trace of airborne contamination. BioSafe’s Part A and Part B solution settle onto all surfaces, even those untouched by traditional chemical cleaning methods, eliminating any potentially harmful microorganisms.
BioSafe’s Biological Cold Fogging binary or two-part solution eliminates >7 log or 99.99999% to non-detectable presence of the most common potentially harmful microorganisms including E. coli, Salmonella, C. difficile, Staphylococcus Aureus (MRSA), Listeria, Norovirus, and the Human Coronavirus. BioSafe’s Cold Fogging is non-toxic, leaves no chemical residue, is non-corrosive, is 100% biodegradable, and is environmentally safe.

WHAT IS BIOSAFE’S AQUEOUS OZONE TECHNOLOGY?
BioSafe’s patented Engineered Water uses Aqueous Ozone (AO) technology that converts municipal water into a powerful contaminant-removing, bacteria-killing agent that cleans and sanitizes without the use of chemicals. The engineered water destroys all potentially harmful microorganisms and is a highly effective biofilm, fiber, and surface control agent that can be used to clean and disinfect virtually any environment.
Test Results. Testing of Aqueous Ozone water has been completed on both non-food contact and food-contact hard, non-porous surfaces. It’s also been tested on fresh produce as an anti-bacterial agent. The AO Water’s ability to produce the desired result of inactivating harmful microorganisms has been proven. The list of bactria, viruses, and fungi destroyed in most cases in just 30 sec inlcude:

Test Results. Testing of Aqueous Ozone water in August of 2020 by an independent laboratory, resulted in its effectiveness in eliminating >99.99% (>4-log) of all four of the following enveloped viruses with a one-minute dwell time.
Coronavirus MHV-3 (surrogate in the same genus as SARS-CoV-2; the virus that causes COVID-19 disease)
Influenza A Virus (H1N1 strains in humans including 2009 Swine Flu and 1918 Flu pandemic)
Respiratory Syncytial Virus RSV (highly contagious for 3 to 8 days and can continue to be spread for as long as four weeks)
Test Results. The University of Minnesota Department of Veterinary Medicine performed pathogen testing of BioSafe’s Aqueous Ozone water in February of 2021. The results were reported to inactivate >99% (>2-log) of PEDv (porcine epidemic diarrhea virus) and PRRSv (porcine reproductive and respiratory syndrome virus) within 1 minute.

PRRSv inactivation 99.46% on Stainless Steel and 99.53% on Cardboard in one minute
Test Results. Testing of Aqueous Ozone Water as an Odor Eliminator was completed using a Fabric/Surface Sanitizer Method and produced the following results:
Proteus mirabilis, a bacteria producing a “fish like” odor, was inacviated at >99% in 30 seconds or less.
HOW ARE HEPA FILTERS CERTIFIED?
By definition all HEPA filters are individually certified as to conformance with their target efficiency and higher efficiency filters are 100% scanned for leaks. The data from the testing is provided on a label on every filter stating test airflow, resistance to airflow and penetration (the inverse of efficiency). Today, manufacturers test each HEPA filter according to methodologies as outlined in Recommended Practices (RP) as published by the Institute of Environmental Sciences and Technologies (IEST) and filter test methods by the International Organization for Standardization (ISO). Filters are challenged with particles or aerosols of specific size and the penetration of each filter is so recorded.
Pure Air HEPA and Carbon Filtration Systems are tested and certified to remove at least 99.97% of dust, pollen, mold, bacteria, and any airborne particles with a size of 0.3 microns (µm).
