October 15, 2020: Celltex Therapeutics Corporation Announces Independent Testing Results of BioSafe Distributors Products
CELLTEX THERAPEUTICS CORPORATION ANNOUNCES INDEPENDENT TESTING RESULTS OF BIOSAFE DISTRIBUTORS PRODUCTS
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
October 15, 2020 – (BUSINESS WIRE) Celltex Therapeutics Corporation, a renowned stem cell research laboratory, completed an extensive test of BioSafe Distributors engineered water technology against 70% Isopropyl Alcohol (“IPA 3”), Lysol/Clorox Wipes and Distilled Water (Control). Upon completion of tests, the results showed BioSafe Distributors engineered water units as a superior and safer method to decontaminate bacteria, viruses, and other microorganisms such as Sars-COV-2 (COVID-19).
Due to the success of the results, Celltex installed BioSafe Distributors Aqueous Ozone engineered water unit(s) to be used throughout their facilities offering a safer, more effective approach to decontamination and sanitation than other traditional chemical-based methods. BioSafe Distributors technology connects to any municipal water supply and oxidizes the water to form high concentrations of O3 (ozone) molecules. The additional oxygen atoms makes ozone a powerful oxidant that destroys microorganisms.
With concern of the Sars-COV-2 pandemic, infection prevention practices at Celltex changed to include daily cleaning of all surfaces in the facilities. This includes the General Laboratory, QC Laboratory, Tech Room, R&D Laboratory, Supply Receipt/Storage Rooms, Breakroom, Conference Room, and Office Spaces. The Celltex laboratory is an ISO Class 7 Manufacturing Laboratory that adheres to FDA cGMP guidelines for the processing of human cell, tissue, and cellular and tissue-based products (HCT/Ps). It is critical that Celltex maintain a sterile working environment both inside and outside of its laboratory given the biological nature of its products.
To assess the BioSafe Distributors ozone water for microbicidal/micro biostatic properties, 4 countertop zones were established and the following cleaners were compared: 1) Distilled water (control), 2) 70% Isopropyl Alcohol (IPA 3), Clorox® wipes, and 4) BioSafe Distributors Ozone Aqueous Water. Using BD TSA RODAC (Tryptic Soy Agar Replicate Organism Detection and Counting) surface sampling plates, “before” samples were taken in each zone as a control, as well as to establish a baseline for each zone. Each zone was then cleaned with the designated cleaner.
After cleaning was performed and the zones were sampled, distilled water, which was used as a control, showed ~72% reduction in surface microbial load, though this is most likely due to the mechanical action of the aseptic/unidirectional wiping method used. 70% IPA and Lysol/Clorox wipes, already in use at Celltex, were shown to be effective in removing, killing/neutralizing bacterial and fungal microorganisms with both cleaning agents having “after” counts of 0 (zero) CFU, a 100% reduction in surface microbial load the zones sampled.
BioSafe Distributors Ozone Water had “after” counts of 0 CFU, a 100% reduction in the surface microbial load. Considering the experimental results, and that ozone is a Center for Disease Control (CDC) and United States Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) recognized oxidative disinfectant, BioSafe Distributors technology is a valuable and effective substitute for other conventional cleaning agents being consumed at Celltex at a high rate. Zone #4: BioSafe Distributors Ozone Water – Before Cleaning 168 Bacterial CFU Observed Zone #4: BioSafe Distributors Ozone Water – After Cleaning 0 CFU Observed.
David Erik Eller, Sr. Vice President of Operations – Celltex Therapeutics Corp states, “I was astounded by the results. To be perfectly honest, I was skeptical of BioSafe Distributors products, and Celltex had several internal discussions before deciding to test and compare products the company was already using to disinfect its laboratories. I didn’t think it was possible that water would be so effective and obviously not harmful to the environment. We were so impressed with the results, that we had BioSafe Distributors engineered water unit(s) installed immediately in our laboratories.”
Mike Hanafan, President of BioSafe Distributors, LLC expresses, “When we were contacted by Celltex and learned of their interest in testing our Aqueous Ozone water technology in a laboratory setting, we jumped at the opportunity. The results confirmed our market niche by providing a safer, more effective approach to sanitation using just converted tap water into a powerful contaminant-removing agent. As a result, Celltex has been a viable partner in helping BioSafe Distributors continue to tell its story to a broad range of industries in the U.S. and abroad.”
Celltex Therapeutics Corporation was founded in 2011 by David Eller and Dr. Stanley Jones to spearhead breakthroughs in regenerative medicine for a number of conditions, including vascular, autoimmune and degenerative diseases. Based out of Houston, Texas, Celltex Therapeutics is an innovative biotechnology company specializing in banking mesenchymal stem cells, commonly referred to as MSC’s, for personal therapeutic use. The Company uses proprietary technology to isolate, multiply and cryopreserve adipose-derived MSCs. Celltex-produced MSCs are used for a range of therapies including immune system support, COVID-19 symptoms, injuries and chronic pain, as well as for many other conditions, including vascular, autoimmune and degenerative diseases, such as Multiple Sclerosis (MS), inflammatory arthritis, Parkinson’s and Alzheimer’s disease.
Celltex’s stem cell processing and banking methods ensure the genetic integrity of an individual’s cells in never-before-seen quantities necessary for therapeutic applications. An individual can then use their banked stem cells for regenerative therapy through infusions or injections performed by a licensed physician.
Today, Celltex Therapeutics Corporation remains committed to leading the United States into the future of regenerative medicine through adult stem cells. Its industry leadership and visionary approach continue to drive the company to improve the quality of life of thousands of individuals, with a concerted focus to make this therapy accessible to all in the near future.
